Operations Manager (part time)

Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting an Operations Manager to build, maintain and operate the systems and processes that make this company function.

Based in our Cramlington headquarters, the Operations Manager will run all non-engineering elements of our business, including the creation of new systems, and maintaining existing systems and processes.

This role will take ownership of a wide variety of tasks including maintaining the cloud-based project management system, creating new systems within our SharePoint based IT system, through to being an integral part in the strategic planning for the future of the organisation.

  • Location: Cramlington, with up to two days working from home (flexible arrangements available).
  • Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience, with regular performance-based reviews.
  • Working hours: Part-time options to be discussed, with exact working time structure to be decided on appointment.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to strategic planning and the streamlining of our core operations (project management for our engineering/consulting teams).
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining operational policies and procedures to enhance business performance across the organisation.
  • Overall management of the business’s ISO 9001 (2015) Quality Management System.
  • Partnering with our external IT Support provider, act as the company IT lead, ensuring our IT systems are effective and compliant, and leading our Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus (re)certifications.

Essential experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications:

The successful candidate will have 3+ years relevant experience in:

  • Managing projects to time, quality and cost.
  • ISO9001 Quality Management Systems (QMS) experience or other relevant ISO standards, quality management systems and performance management systems.

Desirable experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications:

  • A degree in a science, engineering or leadership & management discipline.
  • IT Management.
  • Small business financial systems and accounting software.
  • Project management of projects with values >£100k.
  • Cyber Essentials.
  • Change Management Certifications, such as APMG Change Management foundation and/or Practitioner.
  • ISO9001 (2015) Quality Management Systems (QMS) (ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor, Lead auditor, or similar).
  • Microsoft 365 including, MS Azure / MS InTune.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of industrial, process and manufacturing sectors.
  • Practical knowledge of built environment renewable energy systems.
